The End

A few weeks ago, I had a $1,500 Super Computer. It was one of those very fancy gaming computers with ALL the bells and whistles. It even had running lights.

Unfortunately, I could not get it to connect to the Internet. I couldn’t get the marvelous thing to do what “I” wanted.

So, I sent it back. I lost $200 worth of shipping (two ways) and restocking fees.

One of these days, I might try again. Maybe that $300 all-in-one on sale at Walmart?

The thing is, I figured in my head I NEEDED a new computer. I have two latops, but one is eight years old, and the other one is six.

The nine-year-old runs on Vista. The newer one was born with a Windows 7 operating system.

I knew I had better get a new computer before these senior citizens needed to be retired.

Still, I updated the Windows 7 to Windows 10, and hoped the new system would help the newer PC stay strong.

The medicine did not work.

At midnight Sunday night (October 18th) the newer PC died.

It starting making a continued clicking noise inside, so I checked the DVD drive. Empty.

I tried to shut it down. I got a strange error message and the thing would NOT power down. (Sorry, I can’t remember the message – I was kind of upset.)

I unplugged it and let it sit over night. This morning – no sign of life. Just a small gasp for air when I tried to turn it on.

So, I am very grateful to the powers that be that I still have this older Vista PC by Acer. Funny thing, I have been trying to give it away for several months.

That’s my story. I am used to backing up files, but I know I will run across a plethora of losses as I go searching for them on this machine. I WAS using the newer PC as my main computer, so it has a LOT more files to lose.

Moral of the story – BACK UP YOUR FILES!
