Smithsonian flight exhibit lets you get a passport to Mars and fly like a bird

FlyLikeAnEagleHere’s one way to lure the kids out of the house and away from video games — and immediately back into an interactive computerized environment.

Just head to the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, bypass the Spirit of St. Louis, the Apollo 11 command module and the moon rock, and go directly to “Above and Beyond: The Ultimate Interactive Flight Exhibition,” . . . . . .  on the second floor, where flight simulation, augmented reality, touch tables, skill challenges and virtual reality are meant to inspire new generations to explore the science of flight and space travel.

The immersive exhibit, meant to convey the thrill of aerospace innovation, design and technology . . . .
