soldierIn its infinite wisdom, the Department of Defense has decided beginning June 1, it will discontinue its “imminent danger pay,” in several countries.

Locations scheduled for the pay cuts are: The six land areas and the airspace above Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and Montenegro.  The nine land areas of East Timor, Haiti, Liberia, Oman, Rwanda, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The water and air space above the Persian Gulf.

All “friendlies,” right?

Not even.

More obvious war zones will continue to receive the imminent danger pay,  Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Burundi, Chad, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Greece, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Yemen, Mediterranean Sea and Somalia Basin.

Our faithful soldiers of all branches are 100 percent volunteers.  The government does not give them full support when they return home with physical and mental trauma, and now it is cutting financial support.

About 50,000 fewer service members will be receiving the bonus – effective almost immediately.

Disgusting.

The house of Representatives control the purse-strings – here is how to contact your local congressman and demand these meager paychecks NOT be cut.  http://www.contactingthecongress.org/
